With all the hype surrounding the next-gen iPhone, we can understand if your " iPhome 3G"
feels a little, well, old hat. That's why we were as excited as you
must be to see this iPhone 4 KIRF. Featuring a relatively svelte form
factor, stereo speakers, USB port, a removable battery, and dual SIM
card slot, the only real let down is the 3.2-inch screen. That, and
we're sure that the UI will have a general, KIRFish nature that will
appeal to very few of us. Get a closer look after the break!
[Thanks, Corey]

Looks like Verizon is having a bit of a blowout on the Palm Pre Plus:
it's fallen to just $30 on a two-year contract. That's the same price
as Big Red's Pixi Plus and a pretty substantial discount over Sprint
and AT&T, both of which will charge you $149 -- and man, AT&T
hasn't even started selling the thing yet,
so someone's going to look awful silly on launch day. No word on
whether this cut-rate pricing will last or whether the Pixi Plus will
fall to free, but if you're looking for a che... Continue reading...

149diggsdiggSteve told us it'd be revolutionary, and if sales are the measure of a device's success, then the iPad
seems to be well on track to validating its creator's bold claims. This
past Friday, "just 28 days after its introduction," Apple sold its
millionth iPad. 1.5 million ebooks have already been downloaded to the
device, along... Continue reading...

Sure, you devoured every word of the liveblog
(or perhaps just casually refreshed throughout the day, who are we to
judge), but if you want to see the Steve Jobs-delivered iPhone OS 4
keynote with your own two eyes, the streaming video is now online.
Multitask your way on over! Continue reading...

So now that Apple's finally addressed (well, sort of addressed) the 800-pound gorilla known as multitasking, it's time to take a good, hard look at how iPhone OS 4
stacks up against Redmond's completely redesigned mobile monster that's
destined to hit handsets toward the end of the year. Though the two
companies have taken vastly different paths to get to where they are
with their mobile strategies today, there are some striking
similarities between the platforms; take that multitasking we a... Continue reading...

We'd previously heard rumors that Quattro Wireless
was Apple's consolation prize after a deal with bigger mobile
advertising rival AdMob fell through, and Steve Jobs confirmed it on no
uncertain terms at the Q&A session following today's iPhone OS 4.0 event:
"we tried to buy a company called AdMob... but Google snatched it
away." Indeed they did, though that deal hasn't yet been approved by
the Federal Trade Commission while Apple's already up, up and away with
its iAd solution, so it seems... Continue reading...

Got your iPhone developer credentials handy? Then you'll want to head
straight on over to the iPhone Dev Center, where you can now download
the iPhone SDK 4 beta and get a taste of what everyone else will see
this summer (or fall). And don't worry too much if you're not among the lucky iPhone devs, we've got you covered on all the details of iPhone OS 4 right here. Continue reading...

You heard that right, people -- iPhone OS 4
just brought multitasking to the platform! Apple says they've figured
out how to implement third party multitasking without hurting
performance or battery life, and they're demoing it now -- you just
double click the home button and see a list of your apps, and you can
just tap to switch between apps. The system actually runs the services
apps need in the background -- the apps don't need to do them
individually, so it's not a "true" multitasking ... Continue reading...

Well, Geohot promised
a workaround for Sony's removal of the "install other OS" feature in
PS3 firmware 3.21 and now Geohot has delivered. While it's not
available to the public just yet, Geohot's 3.21OO custom firmware will
apparently be simple to install and, as you can see in the video after
the break, it works just as you'd expect and simply restores the "other
OS" option to its previous place. Geohot even says that the custom
firmware might actually enable the other OS feature on the PS... Continue reading...

Microsoft's already let out word that it's working on Windows 7 Service Pack 1,
but it looks like the OS' first big update has now leaked out slightly
ahead of schedule -- or a recent build of it, anyway. As expected there
aren't any significant changes that are immediately apparent -- the
biggest is the added RemoteFX
functionality when paired with Windows Server -- but the install
process is apparently at least much faster than it was for service
packs on Windows Vista. Still no word on a ... Continue reading...
